Cursor × Tapter MCP
You can connect Tapter to Cursor as an MCP server and manage your links right from the chat with the agent. Step-by-step guide below.

By connecting Tapter to Cursor, you manage your links right in the chat with the agent: create and edit pages, add blocks, and upload images — on your behalf and without a password.

Add Tapter to your MCP client at this address:

https://tapter.one/mcp

There are no tokens to type in by hand — Tapter will ask you for access itself.

Step 1. Open mcp.json

A remote MCP server in Cursor is set in a config file:

  • ~/.cursor/mcp.json — for every project
  • .cursor/mcp.json in the project root — for that project only

If the file isn’t there, create it.

Step 2. Add Tapter

Put this in the file:

The url field is enough: it tells Cursor the server is remote, and Cursor sorts out the transport on its own. No keys or secrets to write down.

Step 3. Sign in and grant access

Save the file — Cursor picks the server up and offers to sign in. Confirm, and a Tapter window will open asking for access.

Make sure the app is Cursor, then click Allow.

Step 4. Done — try it

You can turn servers on and off on the Customize page in the sidebar (Cursor 3.9 and newer). Tapter’s tools show up in the Available Tools list.

Ask the agent: “show my Tapter links”. Before the first call Cursor will ask you to confirm the action.

Where to find this in Tapter

Every connected app and AI agent is visible in the Tapter app: Settings → API access. You can revoke access there at any time.

Is it safe?
The app acts on your behalf and never sees your password. You can revoke access at any time in Settings → API access.
What can Cursor do?
Read your links and everything on them: text, buttons, images, socials; create new links, add, edit, and delete blocks; upload images to your account.
The server won’t connect
Open the Output panel (Cmd+Shift+U or Ctrl+Shift+U) and pick MCP Logs — connection and sign-in errors show up there. Check that the JSON in mcp.json is valid.
I have a corporate Cursor
Team admins can limit which MCP servers are allowed. If the connection doesn’t work, ask them to add tapter.one to the allowed list.
How do I disconnect?
In Cursor — turn the server off or delete it on the Customize page, or remove the entry from mcp.json. In Tapter — Settings → API access, select the app, and turn it off.
